Before you start
You’ll need:
- Admin access to the Google Admin Console
- A Quotient admin account
Step 1: Create a SAML app in Google Admin Console
Create A Custom SAML App
- Log in to the admin console (https://admin.google.com/)
- Go to
Apps → Web and mobile apps
- Click
Add app then Add custom SAML app
- Fill out the
Add custom SAML app form
- Page 1:
App Details
- App name: “Quotient”
- continue
- Page 2:
Google Identity Provider details
- Under
Option 1 click DOWNLOAD METADATA
- This will download a file
GoogleIDPMetadata.xml
- Leave the Google Admin Console open. You'll continue with the app configuration after performing the next step in Quotient’s settings page.
Step 2: Set up Quotient as SAML service provider
- Log in to Quotient
- Select
Settings → Single Sign-On
- Under
SAML SSO Configuration select Metadata XML
- Paste the contents of the GoogleIDPMetadata.xml file, (from step 1) into the Metadata XML text box.
- click
Save Changes
- You should now see the fields:
Assertion Consumer Service (ACS) URL and SAML SSO Entity ID. You’ll need both in the next step.
Step 3: Finish Google IdP Setup
- Return to the Google Admin Console
Add custom SAML app page
- Click continue to go to page 3:
Service provider details
- Use the
ACS URL from step 2
- Use the
Entity ID from step 2
- Click Continue
- Page 4:
Attribute mapping
- Under
Attributes click ADD MAPPING
- Add the following required mappings:
Primary email → email
First name → firstName
Last name → lastName
- Click Finish
